DESCRIPTION        

  bentOKraft^® panels
bentOKraft^® panels are sodium bentonite panels designed to give dry

structures below ground in contact with ground water and bleed water.

  bentOKraft® panels

bentOKraft® panels are a highly bentonite waterproofing system  composed

of a biodegradable corrugated kraft board filled with high-swelling granular 

sodium bentonite.

  bentOKraft^® panels
bentOKraft^® panels contain a controlled rate of 1,13 pound per square foot

(>5,5 kg/m²) of granular sodium bentonite inside the flutes of the 4' x 4' x 3,15/16" thick (1,2m x 1,2m x 5,5 mm) corrugated kraft board.

  bentOKraft^® panels
are confined under slabs and against the concrete structures, when the ground

backfill is placed.

In this confined situation, the expansion of bentonite is stopped

(bentonite can swell only a little).
In this condition bentOKraft^® panels, in contact with water or humidity, become

a high density colloidal GEL (this is a monolithic waterproofing clay membrane).
This GEL state is the effective leakproofing barrier because it is produced with

the MINIMUM expansive capacity within its capability and at the same time it

produces the MAXIMUM expansive force that will be realized during the lifetime

of the structure.
When bentOKraft^® panels are confined, if settlement, shrinkage or seismic

action cause small concrete cracks to structures below ground, the retained

swelling potential allows bentOKraft^® panels to expand into these areas, sealing them off against water penetration:a true Self-healing system.

This inert mineral (natural sodium bentonite) is that, when in contact with

water, if is unconfined will swell to many times its dry volume,

12 to 16 times in GEL state range.
  bentOKraft^® panels
when wrapped around the outside of a below ground structure and contained

by backfill, the containing pressure, prevents free swell thus a tough

impervious mastic GEL is formed, repelling all other water.
  bentOKraft^® panels
work by forming a low permeability clay membrane upon contact with water

(K permeability = 7,86E^-10 cm/sec) .
  bentOKraft^® panels
are no toxic, do not pollute and contain zero VOC,
can be installed in almost any weather condition.

APPLICATIONS

   bentOKraft^® panels
are designed for below-grade structural concrete foundation walls. 

Applications may include structures under continuous or intermittent

hydrostatic pressure.
   bentOKraft^® panels
are not designed for below-grade masonry block walls.

Where contaminated ground-water or saltwater conditions exist, install

bentOKraft^® panels_C&Sr (Contaminant & Saltwater resistant bentonite panels).

habitation and / or factory structure foundation or for building of underground

    SperrJOINT^®,  NEW 100% pure sodium bentonite waterstop, coupled with a retarded hydration initiation, (USA - EU patent),  is a flexible concrete (cast in place), construction joint sealant that provides a permanent leakproofing barrier and that overcomes the disadvantages and typical drawbacks of the background art.

    Sperrbar

Sperrbar multipurpose waterstop, is a cylinder of soluble plastic film filled with natural sodium bentonite, used as reinforcement or specially application.
 

     Granular bentonite
granular sodium bentonite for making up bentOKraft^® partially hydrated paste or loose for remedial work.

      Fixer

plastic lock-washer to fasten in place bentOKraft® panels .

LIMITATIONS
Do not install bentOKraft^® panels in standing water or during precipitation.

If contamined ground-water or saltwater conditions exist, contact the Manufacturer; in this conditions use Contaminant & Saltwater resistant

PRODUCT series _C&Sr.

Do not install bentOKraft^® panelss over decks, roofs, tunnels topped with

rigid or poured wear surfaces, and similar situations.

Masonry or concrete block walls must have a minimum of 20 mm sand and

cement render prior to fixing panels.

PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS

    Hydrostatic resistance
a single course of bentOKraft^® panels is rated to withstand 10 meters of hydrostatic head.
For hydrostatic pressure greater than 10 meters, a double course of

bentOKraft^® panels is required.

     Bridging ability
bentOKraft^® panels are capable of bridging cracks in concrete up to 1,5 mm.

     Application temperature
bentOKraft^® panels are unaffected by frost or heat.

Health and safety
- There are no health hazards associated with bentOKraft® natural sodium

  bentonite, products in normal use.
  The extended contact with skin can cause a drying effect, the use of gloves is

  recommended. In case of contact with eyes, wash with water and consult a

  doctor.
Toxicity
- bentOKraft^® panels are non toxic in normal use.
